OINP Workforce Priority: $80,000 earnings now worth 10 EOI points

On October 5, 2026, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) updated the “Canadian work experience: earnings history” scoring factor for the Ontario Workforce Priority (OWP) stream. If you earned $80,000 or more in a single year in the past 5 years, and a Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Notice of Assessment shows it, you now receive 10 points under this factor.

About the Workforce Priority EOI system

The OWP EOI portal has been open since August 4, 2026. The pathways cover job offers in all National Occupational Classification (NOC) TEER categories, and self-employed physicians.

OINP lists invitations on its page OINP invitations to apply. No Workforce Priority invitation round is published there yet. This update changes scoring only. It is not an invitation round, and it does not set a minimum score.

What this means for you

  • You are already in the OWP EOI pool: your score updates automatically if your earnings meet the new rule.
  • You are thinking about registering: read the OINP page for the full scoring factors and requirements.
  • Your earnings were below $80,000 in every year: this factor does not give you the 10 points.

Points do not guarantee an invitation. OINP has not published an invitation round for this stream yet.
